Yes I had broken her, ravished her life, destroyed her happiness. I brought her to ultimate despair. I was responsible for all the pain and suffering that now brought her to her knees in front of me.
Reckless in her agony.
She is a mirror of my own tortured soul.
But what I took away I can give back.
In ways she cannot even begin to imagine.
She is everything right in all my wrongs.
She loves me. She needs me.
Have you experienced a Carian Cole novel? If you haven’t, I highly recommend her work. Storm is the first book in the Ashes and Embers series, which I really enjoyed. I became an instant fan and couldn’t wait for what came next for this group of amazing characters. Carian did not let me down with Vandal. She blew my expectations into smithereens with the raw intensity she packed into this book. Be prepared for a book hangover!
“Submission is love on f-ing steroids.”
This story is full of so many twists that I was definitely not expecting. The blurb is rather evasive and keeps a lot hidden so you don’t really know what lies ahead. I won’t give away any secrets but I will shed light on a few things.
“It’s not just about sex, It’s much deeper than that. Much, much deeper.”
First of all, this is NOT your typical romance. There is plenty of extremely spicy sex, and I mean WOW THAT IS HOT, but this book is so much more than that. I applaud the author for incorporating so many powerful aspects and blending them together smoothly. I was constantly on the edge of my seat either begging for more or gasping in shock.
“I know what I’m doing is wrong, but this part of me always seems to win because there’s just more bad in me than good. Besides, being bad is way more fun.”
The main man is someone you do not want to miss. Vandal steals the show and ran off with my heart. He is so emotionally damaged and spends his days suffering. Vandal finds temporary relief in booze, pills, and meaningless sex. He hasn’t felt anything pure in so long he wonders if getting an actual reaction out of his body is possible without slicing into his leg. That is one of the main reasons Tabitha becomes so important to him so quickly. Their undeniable connection cannot be explained by me but the author does a phenomenal job describing something so powerful I could close my eyes and imagine the scenes playing out. You all are going to want to read this!
“Being with her has ignited a fire in me that I thought was snuffed out a long time ago.”
The combination of everything is a novel explosion. Mixing tragedy and passion is quite a challenge but this author pulled it off. The amount of time that clearly went into each page is obvious with each vivid detail on display. There is never a dull second! I was swept up in a whirlwind of erotic themes and painful grief. Sounds crazy, right? You’ll need to discover Vandal for yourself…
“Embrace the darkness with me.”
(Storm, book 1 in ASHES AND EMBERS)
I have a passion for the bad boys, those covered in tattoos, sexy smirks, ripped jeans, fast cars, motorcycles and of course, the sweet girls that try to tame them and win their hearts. My debut series, Ashes & Embers, follows the lives of rock band members as they find, and sometimes lose, the loves of their lives.
My first novel in the Ashes & Embers series, Storm, published on September of 2014. Vandal, the second novel in this series is publishing in February of 2015. I currently have approximately nine books slated for this series, as well as an MC series in the works, and a few stand-alones coming in 2015 onward.
Born and raised a Jersey girl, I now reside in beautiful New Hampshire with my husband and our multitude of furry pets and spend most of my time writing, reading, and vacuuming.
