Fresh on the heels of her college graduation, Cameron Heart has landed an interview at a prestigious architecture firm.
Four minutes until the interview.
She knows she’s only there because the owner, Grayson Cole, is her older sister’s friend.
For the last seven years, Grayson has been the most intimidating man Cammie has ever had the pleasure, or displeasure, of being around.
But the job opportunity is too good to pass up. So, Cammie will have to ignore the fact that Grayson is handsome enough to have his own national holiday.
After all, she shouldn’t feel that way about her new boss. And, he will be her new boss.
“I’m not scared of you,” I said with a confident smile.
“Perhaps we should fix that, Ms. Heart. Close the door.”

Oh R.S. Grey… how I’ve missed your amazing words! It has been far too long since I have last experienced one of her inspirational stories. Whenever I pick up one of her novels, I always know I am in for a hilariously inventive adventure. She had me cackling 2% into The Design. This book was SO fun to read. Prepare yourself for plenty of laughs and smiles while you savor each succulent page.
I knew immediately I was going to be a huge Cammie Heart fan. What’s not to like about her? Her spunky, carefree attitude is exactly what bonded me to her. Cammie is the type of person you can easily imagine as your best friend, which added an honest interest to her journey. I genuinely cared what happened to her and I couldn’t read her creative dialogue fast enough.
Grayson Cole is the cover model for unattainable. His solid exterior made it difficult to know what he was thinking but he also says exactly what he means. There is no fluff and stuff with Grayson. I love these types of guys because getting past their stony barriers is all the more interesting. Grayson has spent years building his architecture empire and is extremely successful professionally. He doesn’t need a serious relationship to feel complete.
Good thing Cammie isn’t afraid of a challenge and refuses to back down.
The electric banter between Cammie and Grayson is packed with tension. Each encounter is constantly dripping with pent up desire and I couldn’t wait for them to finally break. Falling into their lust-filled haze was an experience I could read over and over again. I appreciated that it wasn’t an easy love between Grayson and Cammie. They had to put forth some effort and work toward being a couple. Together they are sexy, flirty, and amusing.
This author’s writing is so quirky and humorous. She creates realistic plots that are effortless to enjoy. The authentic experience I receive always leaves me happy. The ideas are original and unique so I never feel like I am reading the same old thing. The Design definitely showcases this author’s style so make sure you grab this one, plus read all of her other books too!
I live in Texas where I spend my free time writing and reading. My favorite authors include Mindy Kaling & Jonathan Safran Foer. I’m a comedy geek and love all things “funny”. Women like Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, and Mindy Kaling are definitely the biggest inspirations for my writing, though I think my work tends to skew a bit smuttier than theirs.
