From the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Real series comes the first novel in a sexy, adult contemporary series.
Mysterious. Privileged. Legendary. His entire life he’s been surrounded by the press as they dig for tidbits to see if his fairytale life is for real or all mirrors and social media lies. Since he hit the scene, his secrets have been his and his alone to keep. And that’s where I come in.
Assigned to investigate Saint and reveal his elusive personality, I’m determined to make him the story that will change my career.
But I never imagined he would change my life. Bit by bit, I start to wonder if I’m the one discovering him…or if he’s uncovering me.
Hello Katy!!! BestSellers & BestStellars are such HUGE fans of your phenomenal work and are honored that you’re taking precious time to answer our questions. WE LOVE YOU!
OMG well thank you! I am absolutely honored, and a fan of yours as well! I’m thrilled to be here! Thanks so much for having me.
What has been your favorite part of writing the Manwhore series so far?
The characters. I’m just so in love with them. Malcolm is one tough cookie to crack, but when he starts to open up to Rachel, confidently and exclusively, I fell as hard as she did for this man. Rachel is also a very relatable heroine. She’s not perfect, but she is very human, innocent because she’s still young, but hard-working and determined. She’s fun, real, sweet, and she has a lot to offer the world….she just never imagined that she would fall–against all common sense–for a man as elusive and unforgettable as Saint is.
In your opinion, what is Malcolm Saint’s best quality?
He has many amazing qualities. He’s extremely ambitious, confident, in control, quiet and self-possessed, he is a man of actions, not words, while Rachel is a woman who lives by words. What I most like about Saint is the fact that he goes after what he wants without apology or remorse or second guessing at all. I love heroes who feel unworthy and yet Saint feels worthy of anything that he wants.
Real was your first published novel and obviously hit it big. Do you feel like the amazing heroes you’ve created since have been as well received as Remington Tate?
I think that Remy has a very special place in my readers’ hearts, but I’m very grateful to my fans for also opening their hearts to my other heroes as well. There are so many love stories in me that I want to share, I’m just really grateful to my readers who inspire me to tell them.
Who has been your favorite character to write?
I really enjoyed writing my heroes. They are the ones who keep me guessing, and on my toes, wanting to know more about them. I also have to say that I enjoy my heroines, it’s through their shoes that I get to experience their toe-curling love stories, so I grow so attached to my girls as well.
What is your first step when starting a new writing project?
Usually, I write a short blurb, think of the correct title, and find out the names that belong to my characters. Once I know what they want, I start the first chapter, and then the next, sometimes jumping up to a scene that comes to mind and writing them as they start popping up in my head. Later, I shuffle them around and organize, but during the creative process I usually write freestyle.
How do you decide on names for your characters?
I choose them with a sense of what fits. Usually I search the name databases online, and the ‘right’ names and last names will somehow jump out at me. I will feel in my gut when I have the right one because I get this little kick and I know then that I’ve got it.
If you could meet anyone famous, who would it be and what would you want to do with them?
Henry VIII, a womanizer of the first order. I admit that I grew up obsessed with him ever since I knew that he had six wives and killed quite a few of them. I would love to play chess with this man, and pick his brain a little bit. Who among his wives was his favorite? Did he love them all equally or was there one he loved above all?
What are some favorite novels that you’ve read recently?
I just finished Mean Streak by Sandra Brown, I’ve loved her for years, ever since I started working category romances. I’ve read every single one of her books and I love them all.
Other than writing fantastic books, what do you spend your time doing?
I love baking and taking long, long walks. I also enjoy photography, any form of art, visiting museums, and learning something new. My curiosity knows no bounds!
Thank you so much for spending time with us, Katy! We greatly appreciate your endless talent and look forward to all the awesomeness of your upcoming Manwhore series!
On the contrary, thank you for having me over! I love being here with you and absolutely can’t wait to hear what you think of Manwhore. I hope you enjoyed as much as I did!Katy Evans is an author we all know and love. Manwhore is the start of a new series that is a MUST READ! Katy provides her consistently outstanding writing quality to create the story of Malcolm Saint and Rachel Livingston. Prepare to be swept up in the world of wealth, power, persuasion, and deceit.
He started out as an assignment for her job. An expose on Malcolm Saint would boost/solidify Rachel’s career and revive the struggling paper she works for. Writing for The Edge is everything for Rachel and she isn’t ready to surrender. She will do whatever it takes to prove herself.
Getting close to Malcolm wouldn’t be simple but Rachel was motivated. He’s the hottest, richest, most sought after bachelor in Chicago and definitely plays the part well. Malcolm always gets what he wants and isn’t ashamed in the slightest about methods he’s willing to use. This man had me wrapped around his pinky from the first suggestive word out of his delicious mouth. Malcolm is definitely a guy you all need to experience. His cocky, overconfident attitude is clearly covering secrets no one knows. Who is the real Malcolm Saint?
What began as a professional endeavor quickly merges into very personal territory. Real feelings were never supposed to be part of the equation but Saint exposes emotional reactions within Rachel that she has never known. She didn’t stand a chance when she’s constantly battling his aggressively naughty advances. Why would she fight it anyways? Their dialogue is sizzling, the tension is seductive, their chemistry is scorching and I couldn’t get enough.
The erotic adventure that Saint and Rachel venture together is mouth watering. Katy Evans once again brought her A+ writing to produce this extremely sensual and highly tempting journey. I appreciated the balance between steam and serious. It’s not all passion and sex! This story has a very strong plot that enhances the already high quality of this book.
Page after page adds more to this passionate affair and true, genuine feelings build between this outstanding pair. There was never a dull scene or a point I wished the story moved faster. The pace is perfection and the transitions are blended smoothly. This author is a best seller for a reason! Manwhore is the type of novel that leaves you begging for more because you’ll never get enough of Malcolm Saint. There is a lot left to be answered in +1 and I am eager to discover what’s in store for Rachel and Saint.
