About Us

We are ladies who love to read.  We were brought together through the love of a great book. They say that books have the power to change lives, we believe these words to be true.

A good book should leave you… slightly exhausted at the end.  You live several lives while reading it.  ~William Styron, interview, Writers at Work, 1958

A dirty book is rarely dusty.  ~Author Unknown

Books can be dangerous.  The best ones should be labeled “This could change your life.”  ~Helen Exley

Some books are to be tasted, others to be swallowed, and some few to be chewed and digested.  ~Francis Bacon

The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not pleasure in a good novel, must be intolerably stupid. ~Jane Austen

I am extremely excited to be part of a blog! My reasons for starting up a book blog were to help independent, self-published authors get the recognition they deserve as well as continue to give my love and devotion to all my favorite best sellers! I am passionate about romance novels and I want to share wonderful works of words with anyone who will listen.

Reading romance is not my only passion. I have owned, competed, and loved horses all of my life. When I am riding, my mind is at peace. I am a huge sucker for westerns, cowboys, and any novels related to horses. I will admit I am a bit biased but we all have our weak spots.

I enjoy reading all types of romance… YA, NA, Contemporary Romance, Erotica, and every once in awhile I find a paranormal romance I love. Best friends falling in love in my absolute FAVORITE! I’ll take deep, dark, mysterious men and sweet, passionate, and devoted men. I enjoy added suspense in a storyline… underlying secrets that reveal themselves as the story progresses. Broken, beat down characters have a special place in my heart. Flings turning into real things, second chances, Rock Stars, CEOs, fighters… I love it all so bring it on! You can break me down and rip me open as long as I get my HEA!!!

A few authors that have had a HUGE impact on the reader I am today are Kahlen Aymes, Lauren Blakely, Colleen Hoover, AL Jackson, Laura Miller, CJ Roberts, and Jasinda Wilder. I love you all for different reasons but each of you have opened by eyes and mind with your amazing talent!

I want all of our followers to feel like they are part of this blog as well. Please share blog ideas, authors, books, and anything you feel would help make us even more stellar! We want to hear from you so please be interactive!

meI have always been a reader.  I started reading when I was four, thanks to my teacher mother.  Libraries and bookstores are the places I love most.  I have always considered myself a reader, rather than a writer but when I was approached about starting this blog with Hetty, I was thrilled and just couldn’t say no.  I have secretly always wanted to blog, I just never really had the guts to do it alone.

That being said, Literature is my passion. Books are my life, literally.  I am a Young Adult Librarian.  I love all books, but I am a romantic at heart so Romance is my all time favorite. I love The Classics, Young Adult Fiction, Chic-Lit, Fantasy Fiction, Contemporary Fiction, Memoirs, Historical Fiction, Realistic Fiction and I am loving this new genre we are calling New Adult. I love it all!!!  I love Jane Austen like nobody’s business, she is my hero.  I happen to think that all our Tall, Dark, Handsome, Mercurial, Brooding favorite men are modeled after the one and only Mr. Darcy!

I read because I need to.  It is not a hobby or a pastime, it is who I am.  Books have given me so much and are very big part of who I am.  I could not live without books or my kindle!  🙂

I have two perfect sons and a wonderful Hubby (my very own Mr. Darcy) who loves and understands me and my crazy book obsession. I have many, many, many book boyfriends and imaginary best friends.  Some of my fictional loves include Mr. Darcy, Edward Cullen, Professor Gabriel O. Emerson, Remington Tate, Dr. Ryan Matthews, Alex Fuentes, Christian Grey, Superman, Batman, Han Solo & Darth Vader, yes, I love Darth Vader.  This is just a short list, I could not possibly list them all.  I believe in Love at First Sight & Happily Ever After. 😉

Disclaimer:  I am the queen of run on sentences.  I write the way I speak…so go ahead and put away your red pens 🙂

When I was asked to be a reviewer for this blog, I was so excited!!  I’ve always wanted to be part of a blog.  I had thought about starting my own, but I didn’t think that anyone would read it and it would just be a waste.  I am so glad to be part of this blog and I look forward to the amazing stories I get to experience!

Reading is a huge thing for me now.  I never used to enjoy reading when I was younger mostly because it was forced upon me and I had to read a certain book.  That changed when I got older.  I started reading the Harry Potter books and it immediately piqued my interest.  Then I got into the Twilight series books and I became addicted to reading.  I have read so many books that I can’t even give a number.  I love reading and I will never get enough!

I mostly enjoy reading romance novels– Young Adult, New Adult, Contemporary Romance, and Erotica.  I’m not a big fan of paranormal, but sometimes there’s a few that grab my attention.  I love stories with fighters (Travis Maddox and Remington Tate!), rock stars (Kellan Kyle, Noel Falcon, Riff!), CEOs (Christian Grey!).  I love reading a story that doesn’t have that insta-love feeling right off the bat.  I enjoy watching it build from a friendship into an intimate relationship.  I enjoy getting to know characters emotionally just so it makes you feel like you’re right there with them.  I think it’s great when there’s a love story with some kind of mystery or suspense along with it, something to give you a thrill.  There’s just something about stories that break me apart and make me cry, then build me back up and give me a happily ever after, that I need.  It makes me feel closer to the story and characters when I read something like that.

There are so many amazing authors out there that have made such a huge impact on me for many different reasons.  All of these authors are the reason why I love reading so much– Kahlen Aymes, Tara Sivec, CJ Roberts, Katie Ashley, Colleen Hoover, J. Sterling, Jasinda Wilder, AL Jackson, Katy Evans, Kendall Ryan, Emily Snow, Gail McHugh, Raine Miller, R.K. Lilley, Michelle Valentine, J.B. McGee.  They are so talented and made me fall in love with their stories, that each one of their books are always on my top list.

Reading is my escape, so much so I tattoo’d on my shoulder. I’ve always had a love for reading and firmly believe if you start a child young they can accomplish anything!

I love to read anything romance. I good mystery and twist and turns thrown in even better. I also love to read the newest hottest read but they tend to get away from me . So many books,so little time as they say.

I’m addicted to collecting Autographed book, and love to travel to book signings when I can. My 2nd favorite hobby is making teasers pics and I’ve been told I’m pretty good at it.

I cant say I have a favorite author I love them all!. I do love a few genres, Erotic Romance, Contemporary Romance, New Adult and a little PNR. I prefer adult reads. A good tear jerker sticks with me for ever!

One of my favorite quotes is “One day you will kiss a man you can’t breathe without, and find that breath is of little consequence.”

and….

“I’m pretty sure my addiction to reading has just reached a whole new level.”

I am really excited to be a part of this blog and to review books   from independent authors.

My mother has always had a book in progress.  As I was growing up, I remember her   sitting in a comfortable chair reading for hours.  She has the most amazing concentration   and my brother and I would say something outrageous just to see how much time   would pass before she realized what we said.  Therefore, my love of books comes from my   mother.   She is in her 90’s   and still reads as much, if not more, than she did when I was growing   up.

Through the years I have read many genres; mysteries, historical   romance and contemporary romance.     A few years ago I accidentally bought a paranormal romance and I have   been hooked ever since.  Now I   like paranormal, romantic suspense, futuristic, erotic and contemporary   westerns.  I love a good romance   and I really like a happy ending.

I   have been happily married to the same wonderful man for over 40 years.  We have an adult daughter who is an   absolute delight.  Besides   reading, which is my favorite thing to do, I make cards, scrapbook, knit and   crochet.
